Leave a gift in your Will

Caring for someone living with dementia is an act of love, patience, and dedication.

Dementia carers provide unwavering support and care, often at great personal cost.

By including a gift in your Will to a charity like Dementia Carers Count, you can ensure that a dementia carer receives the support they need to navigate the ups and downs of caring for someone living with dementia.

Whatever its size, your gift will have a lasting impact.

Everyone is affected

Dementia is becoming the biggest health challenge of our time – it is a complex, progressive condition that affects the whole family.

One in two of us will either care for someone with dementia, or need dementia care ourselves.

Being a dementia carer comes with little respite or recognition. Life changes immeasurably, as the carer must come to terms with slowly losing their loved one to this devastating disease, whilst also coping with their everyday life. Carers are often left feeling isolated and overwhelmed whilst trying to navigate their carer journey alone.

How we are by the side of carers

Our team are there for dementia carers – we help them navigate through the challenges that come with caring for someone with dementia. We are just a phone call away, to provide every carer calling us with support that is often described as a lifeline.

Together we can be there for more dementia carers – supporting, advocating and campaign so that no carer feels isolated, invisible or alone.

Rosie, a dementia carer, said:

They (Dementia Carers Count) have been that constant in my life since mum was diagnosed. I tried reading up on how mum would be changing and what happens when, but actually having someone to talk to, to support me and to answer my questions made all the difference. Having them there by my side really gave me the strength to navigate mum’s ever-changing journey.

Leaving a legacy of care

Margaret Head – Meg – kindly left part of her estate to Dementia Carers Count charity. Meg’s lasting legacy will care for dementia carers.
Meg was a teacher, who enjoyed walking, swimming and the outdoors. When her mother was sadly diagnosed with dementia, her father cared for her at home. Meg kindly decided to leave a generous gift in her will to Dementia Carers Count, citing it as a cause very close to her heart. Meg’s donation will ensure we can be there for more carers like her father.
