Fundraise for dementia carers

Organising your own event or need ideas? We’re here to help

If you’re looking to organise your own event, we’re here to support you all the way. If you would like any resources just get in touch with us and we’ll get back to you.

Feel inspired!

There are so many different ways you can raise funds for dementia carers. If you’re stuck for ideas, we’ve some suggestions to get you started below.

Why not use your love of baking and create your own ‘Bake Off’ whilst raising donations for dementia carers? Get in touch with us and we’ll help you along the way.

Did you know that birthday fundraisers can be a great way to celebrate your special day whilst supporting a cause close to your heart? Get in touch with us here or start your fundraising through Justgiving.

Organise a movie night instead of a trip to the cinema, invite friends and family and any money you save – ask people to donate a ticket price.

Nearly one in three young people know someone living with dementia, often a grandparent but increasingly a parent, and they see impact that this has on carers as well as family and friends around them. Whilst educating children about caring for someone with dementia, why not make it fun and rewarding along the way?

There are so many easy and fun ways to get children involved in raising money for Dementia Carers Count, but some of our favourites are:

    • Read-a-thon: get your child reading and ask friends and family to donate per page read
    • Sponsored Walk – Run – Cycle – Scoot – Skate: take on a mile a day of activity to increase their well-being
    • Seasonal fundraisers: children love running their own stalls, whether it’s their own crafts, bakes or games with donated toys or chocolate.

Why not get your kids school or group together – after all everything is better when we get together.

Have family friendly quiz night (with some special kids focused games), a carol concert or performance, have a coffee morning, or get the children to work as a team to reach achieve a distance challenge.

Whatever your thoughts are, or if you’d like support to get your school or activity groups involved then do get in touch – we are here to support you.

Why not organise a Christmas jumper day at school, work or amongst friends. Get people wearing their silliest jumper and ask for a donation to Dementia Carers Count. You could even double it up and hold a bake-sale. Get in touch with us here or start your fundraising through Justgiving.

Why not pick a month and decide to give up your favourite chocolate or treat? Family and friends can then sponsor you through the month and why not have a celebration together at the end of the event? Get in touch with us here or start your fundraising through Justgiving.
