Lissy Edwards

Pronouns: She/Her
Lissy is an experienced speech and language therapist who has worked extensively in the NHS specialising in the rehabilitation of people with brain injury, stroke and other long-term conditions such as dementia. She is highly skilled in the assessment and management of swallowing and communication difficulties and enjoys working in collaboration with patients and families.
Lissy also trains healthcare professionals in developing new ways of working which values the experience and knowledge of patients and families/carers. This approach focuses on what is important to them and empowers and supports them in managing a long-term health condition and living well. Her passion for working in the field of dementia, and in particular with family carers/supporters, is very much inspired by her own experience of supporting a close relative who lived with dementia
