“We want carers to get involved in ways that fit around their lives. Whether you have a few minutes to share a thought or more time to help shape our work, you can take part in a way that works for you, and change how you’re involved over time.”

Getting involved with Dementia Carers Count can mean many different things. You could share your views and experiences, give your time or skills, take part in a project or help shape our work.
Whether you have a few minutes or would like to be more involved, you can choose what works for you. Our Carer Point of View Survey is a great place to start tell us what you’re interested in and how you’d like to get involved, so we can connect you with relevant opportunities.
Share your views
Have your say through surveys, polls, focus groups and feedback. Whether you have five minutes or more, your views can help shape our work.
Share your experience
Share what life is really like as a dementia carer. Your experiences can help raise awareness, improve understanding and shape the support carers receive.
Give your time & skills
Support a project or event, or use your skills to help our work. Opportunities can be one-off, occasional or more regular, whatever works for you.
Why get involved?
We are ambitious about supporting dementia carers and campaigning for the change dementia carers tell us they need.
The experiences, ideas, and time you share with us help us understand what matters to carers, improve what we do and how we share carers experiences, as well as strengthen our calls for better recognition and support.
You don’t need to have any specific training, skills, or, for some opportunities, direct experience of caring to get involved. There are many ways to help make a difference for dementia carers and we’ll be here to support you every step of the way.
Tell us how you’d like to be involved
We want to make it easier for you to get involved in ways that suit your interests, your time and your life.
Our Carer Point of View Survey is a short survey where you can tell us the kinds of things you’d be interested in from sharing your views or experiences to taking part in a project, reviewing our work or giving your time and skills.
Completing the survey doesn’t commit you to anything. It simply helps us understand what interests you so we can let you know when suitable opportunities come up. You can decide each time whether you’d like to take part.
Current opportunities
Find something that works for you, our opportunities change throughout the year. You might find opportunities to:
- complete a survey or poll
- join a focus group or discussion
- contribute to research
- share your experience
- review information or resources
- volunteer your time or skills
- support a project or activity
- help shape our work over a longer period
For each opportunity, we’ll explain what it involves and give you an idea of the time or level of commitment, so you can decide whether it’s right for you.
Get involved in a way that works for you
There isn’t just one way to make a difference. New opportunities are added throughout the year. Complete our Carer Point of View survey to tell us what interests you and how you would like to take part.
