It is an opportunity to focus specifically on some of the memory and language challenges which can occur for a person with dementia alongside support strategies which can really impact on the well-being of the person and your ability to cope with the challenges. By understanding the challenges for the person with dementia, this session will provide you with the knowledge that you have the ability and skills to support some of these challenges.
This session is for you if:

  • you would like to learn about how changes in the brain can affect memory and language
  • you would like some ideas for supporting the persons memory and language skills
  • you want to spend time with experienced healthcare professionals who will answer your questions in a safe, supportive environment
  • you would like to meet other people who are taking care of a friend or family member with dementia in a similar situation
