Want to know more about Dementia Carers Count? Would you like to get your school or local group involved? Get in touch.

Dementia Carers Count is a small national charity so community engagement and the support of others is vital to helping us spread the word about what we do and how we can support dementia carers.

Our Community Engagement Officer works to raise the profile of our charity, endeavouring to reach people who don’t know about us yet, all over the UK. By visiting hospitals, carers’ hubs, community groups, and any businesses interested in hearing more about our services.

Their work includes representing Dementia Carers Count at various events around the UK, answering questions about how we can help family and friends looking after someone with dementia, explaining how employers can support those looking after someone with dementia, giving presentations about our work and managing our stand at events and shows.

If you are a community group, religious organisation, sports club, school or university we would love to hear from you. Our Community Engagement Officer would be delighted to talk to you and your members about our services and our plans for the future, in person or virtually, and they will be there to support you with any fundraising ideas you might have to support dementia carers.

Community Fundraising for DCC

The DCC team is here to make your group or club fundraising fun, fulfilling and stress-free. You can fundraise for DCC in anyway you choose, any amount you raise makes a real difference to our work. Whether you want to hold your own event, take on a challenge or choose an option from our A-Z of fundraising ideas.

Schools: If you would like to get your school involved in fundraising for DCC we would love to hear from you. Whether it’s a sponsored event such as a walk, run or dance-a-thon, bake sale, quiz night, movie night or fancy-dress day, there are so many ways that schools can support us that are also fun for the children.

Community Groups: If you are in a community group and would like our Community Engagement Officer to come and talk to your members about our services please get in touch. This is one of the best ways for us to spread the work about our services. If you would like to fundraise for us with a local collection, community coffee morning, quiz night or any other idea you might have please let us know and we will help in any way we can.

As our plans develop for our own Dementia Carers Centre in the Midlands, our Community Engagement Officer will be spreading the word and building relationships with communities in the surrounding area.
