The people that come on our courses often tell us that they experience feelings of guilt, grief and loss whilst still caring for a person with dementia as their condition progresses and their roles change. You may be finding that you experience grief for the loss of a person’s abilities and independence and their loss of cognition. You may both be experiencing a loss of hope, loss of future dreams, loss of stability and security, loss of identity, loss of relationship and countless other losses.
This one-day course will provide the opportunity to identify the factors which affect our guilt, our ways of dealing with loss and the way we grieve. Ways in which families and friends can support each other to feel less overwhelmed will also be discussed.
This course is for you if:
- you would like to learn why you may be experiencing grief, guilt or loss while caring for a person living with dementia
- you would like your questions around guilt, grief and loss to be addressed in a safe, supportive environment by healthcare professionals with experience of supporting people with dementia and their families
- you would like to learn strategies for managing you’re feelings of guilt, grief and loss
- you want meet other people who are supporting a friend or family member with dementia who may be experiencing similar feelings

As a charity we do not make a profit. It costs us £125 per person to deliver our one-day courses, including lunch. Therefore, we invite course participants (or their employers) to donate to the charity on completion of the course, if they are able to. All donations, big or small, make such a difference. Please note that our team recommend that you attend all sessions of this one-day course. Every element of the programme has being researched and planned and arriving late or leaving early will affect the benefits of the course for you and other attendees. If you are unable to attend all sessions, our team will work with you to find an alternative date that works better for you.
