Throughout the pandemic we have explored new and innovative ways to support family carers of people with dementia, and despite the challenges of lockdown we have managed to reach more carers than ever before. Our team is now delivering a comprehensive range of free Live Online Learning and we are pleased to confirm these digital services will continue even after government restrictions end on 19th July. We will also continue to add new titles and service offers based on what carers tell us they need. Furthermore, we will continue to review our options for returning to face-to-face courses and we will ensure we provide regular updates here on any developments. We are grateful for your support and understanding during this period and we hope to see you soon at one of our live online sessions. For more information and to book your place, please see here.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly team directly on:

In the interests of safety, and in accordance with the most recent government guidance, we have decided to temporarily suspend the delivery of our face-to-face courses. We aim to return to deliver these courses when it is safe to do so, and we will continue to ensure that all people affected by cancellations have the chance to attend an alternative date in the future. We are grateful for your understanding, and we apologise for the inconvenience these cancellations may cause.

As we are unable to run our face to face courses, we have introduced a range of live online learning sessions covering a wide variety of topics. Each session lasts between 1 hour and 1.5 hours and the groups are kept small so that everyone has the opportunity to discuss and ask questions. For more information and to book your place, please see here.

We will also continue to provide supportive and practical information through our Virtual Carers Centre and on our Facebook page.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly team directly on:

0203 5400 710 or email support@dementiacarers.org.uk.

Dementia Carers Count Three-Day Courses are Back Up and Running – September 2020

After cancelling our courses earlier this year, we are delighted to announce that we are now running our face to face courses again. We ran our first COVID secure course from 2-4 September and since then we have put on 3 further courses. We have limited participants to 10 to ensure physical distancing can be always be maintained. We are following guidance from Public Health England and have restrictions and procedures in place to keep you safe. For example, on arrival at the hotel you will be required to wear a face mask and whenever moving around within the hotel and your temperature will be checked daily. You will also receive your own individual sealed pack containing your course handbook, a bottle of hand sanitiser, 3 masks, a pack of tissues and a pen. All meals and drinks are served at your own individual table from which you can chat to other carers but socially distanced.

We are committed to providing our courses to family members and friends caring for someone with dementia while it is safe to do so as we know they need support, now more than ever.

During these COVID-19 restrictive times, we were very reassured by the organisers and the organisation of the course was 110% to make sure that all precautions were observed and everyone followed them
