Director of Communications and Growth
£65,000 – £70,000 pa FTE
Full time or part-time, 28-35 hours
Remote
Dementia Carers Count is a small national charity with big ambitions. It’s estimated that there are currently around one million people with dementia in the UK and this number is expected to rise.
Dementia has higher health and social care costs than both cancer and coronary heart disease and much of the social care is undertaken by family carers. There is an enormous gap between the support they receive and the support they need.
We’re here to make sure that carers feel supported, valued and heard. We provide practical and emotional support via our Carers’ Support Line, online support groups and virtual carers’ centre, as well as campaigning for change.
It’s an exciting time to join our charity, as we develop our strategy for the future. As the Director of Communications & Growth, you will be joining the Senior Leadership team, working in close collaboration with the CEO and other senior colleagues to build on successes to date. You will drive the strategic leadership of communications, policy & campaigns and income generation, so that no dementia carer is ever isolated, forgotten or ignored.
To be successful in this role, you will be an inspiring, supportive and collaborative leader with exceptional strategic and operational skills gained in the charity sector. You will have demonstrable experience of leading the development of a communications and income generation strategy to grow reach, impact and income.
The position is available as a permanent, full-time, or part-time opportunity, allowing remote work in which you can be based anywhere within the UK, with attendance at occasional in-person meetings, typically around four times a month in London.
If you believe that you have the skills and experience required for this unique opportunity to join Dementia Carers Count in a pivotal role leading the next exciting stage in our journey, then we’d love to hear from you.
