We’re looking for a Counselling Manager to help us ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and carer centred therapeutic support. This new role includes:
- supporting the development and continuous improvement of our service
- maintaining clinical standards
- managing staff wellbeing
Every year in the UK thousands of unpaid carers look after someone with dementia but receive little or no support. At Dementia Carers Count, we stand for them. We campaign for change and provide practical, emotional and financial support to dementia carers across the UK.
Our Carer Support Service delivers free advocacy, casework, and counselling, so no carer feels invisible, isolated or alone. Carers describe the service as life changing.
We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced professional to lead and develop our counselling service. This new role calls for someone with a strong background in delivering and managing therapeutic support, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to the emotional wellbeing of dementia carers.
You will play a key part in ensuring our counselling provision is accessible, high-quality, and responsive to the evolving needs of dementia carers.
We are a small and remote multi-disciplinary team, committed to making a difference for carers and supporting each other. The role can be based anywhere in the UK, with attendance at periodic in-person meetings in London.
If you like the sound of the role, and believe you have the skills and experience to join us, then we would love to hear from you.
What we can offer you
- Generous Annual Leave plus the option to purchase additional Leave
- Workplace Pension with up to 6% employer contribution
- Group Life Assurance
- Health cash plan
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Enhanced Company sick pay policy
- Enhanced carers, family and other leave
- Remote working with travel costs paid
- A commitment to flexible working
- A commitment to support your learning and development
