This International Women’s day, we’re choosing to challenge some of the perceptions about family members and friends caring for someone with dementia and the services and support that they receive. A massive 79% of the dementia carers who have attended our three-day courses are women, and we know that women have disproportionately borne the challenges of the pandemic.
We’re in this together and are ramping up our online education services to ensure we can continue to give family carers the support that they need. We’re also excited to welcome dementia carers, women and men, back to our face-to-face courses later this year. Now more than ever, we honour all dementia carers for the amazing job that they have done throughout the pandemic.
This International Women’s Day, we choose to challenge ourselves and the rest of our society to give dementia carers the rights, recognition, and support they deserve.
