Celebrating our Volunteers

To celebrate Volunteers Week 2020 our Community Engagement Officer, Yael, spoke to our Ambassador, Heather Brown, about why she decided to become an Ambassador for Dementia Carers Count and things she loves about volunteering.

If you’d like to become an Ambassador get in touch with Yael directly by emailing yael.shotts@dementiacarers.org.uk or fill in this online form. Becoming an Ambassador means helping us to reach more people when they most need our support. You can commit as little or much time to our charity as you like and spread the word about our work by doing things like:

  • distributing leaflets about us and our courses
  • telling your friends and community about our charity’s work
  • talking to carers’ groups about us (we can help you with this by providing a PowerPoint presentation and marketing materials)
  • following us on social media and sharing our courses with your connections
  • telling us your story and becoming one of our case studies for the media and/or for our website
  • helping to ensure that we’re part of your local charity collections
  • reviewing our courses and helping us to find new people to take part in future courses
  • volunteering your time at national events with us
